@urbanbarbarian (Dan Panosian)’s painted(!) piece for the DRACULA: SON OF THE DRAGON @kickstarter.
As I write this, wehave less than 24 hours to raise $1,000 and close this out.
BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP TO DO IT.
If you are thinking of pledging, or raising your pledge amount for a better incentive, NOW IS THE TIME TO DO PLEDGE:
This isn’t just (NSFW) DRACULA guest art from @nathanfoxy - we’re offering this diptych as two prints for just $40 as the last official perk for our @kickstarter campaign. Want them? Pledge here:
In case you are wondering what the meaning of this scene is…
When Vlad Dracul - Dracula’s father - sends his sons Vlad Dracula and Radu the Handsome as hostages to the Ottoman Sultan, they are sent along with hundreds of young boys as tribute. Ripped from their families, these boys will be turned into Janissaries, the Sultan’s shock troops.
But among these boys is a Trojan Horse…a girl. And not just any girl, a vampire. Vlad Dracul and his fellow members of The Order of the Dragon hope to infect The Ottoman empire with the plague of vampirism.
But the Sultan’s son Mehmet has other ideas. For humans, drinking vampire blood is immensely pleasurable.
There’s more to this story of course, but for that you’ll have to read the book. And once again, the only way that happens is if you pledge here:
Richard’s take on Vlad for a pin up! Known Richard for a long time, we started out in the business in toronto together. He’s always been a great colorist, generally talented. Lately i think, his inked renderings have gotten especially sharp it seems. Kicking ass.
My amazing artist pal Max Douglas/Salgood Sam has a Kickstarter under way for his historical horror series, Dracula, Son of the Dragon here http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/78669939/dracula-son-of-the-dragon
As I’m putting this up there are just 66 hours left and it’s very close to hitting it’s goal. I really recommend checking it out!
@rpace (Richard Pace’s) amazing Vlad the Impaler pin-up for our DRACULA: SON OF THE DRAGON @kickstarter.
We are sooooo close to our goal, less the $1700 as I queue this post up. with about 57 hours to go.
If you want to see our story of Vlad’s transformation into the vampire Dracula come to life, and/or you want to own a postcard with this and the other guest art I’ve been showcasing here, we need you to pledge here;
@antne (Anthony Decidue)’s @drink_and_draw DRACULA @kickstarter art. Please pledge here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/78669939/dracula-son-of-the-dragon so close to out goal…
a new @salgood piece for the DRACULA: SON OF THE DRAGON @kickstarter. I promised I’d release something new when we hit $11,000, and I’ve got more artwork from Salgood & others when we break $12k, $13K and finally hit our goal at $14,000.
BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP TO CLOSE THIS OUT. If you haven’t done so already, please pledge so we can publish our graphic novel chronicling Vlad Dracula’s transformation from real-life Impaler to Bram Stoker’s vampire Count. Here’s the link:
@TonyDonley’s art from the @drink_and_draw @kickstarter for DRACULA: SON OF THE DRAGON. Promise I’d post some art when we broke 200 backers, so if you want to see more please pledge here (and share this post & link):
More art when we reach $11,000…we’re getting close but we NEED YOUR HELP.
If you like this, you’ll love Tony’s comics like Albert Einstein: Time Mason. Check out his work here: http://tinydonkeystudios.com/
@Leo_Ferdandez_’s DRACULA: SON OF THE DRAGON pin-up for @salgood and my @kickstarter. Want a postcard with this and the other guest art on it? Please pledge here:
Leo is an incredible artist who I’ve wanted to work with since seeing his work on Queen & Country, the best espionage series ever. He followed that up with, among other things, Punisher Max. I knew he could do medieval stuff after his work on Northlanders, but this still blew me away.
That’s not just a sinister Vlad the Impaler he’s brought to life, that’s an incredible recreation of Poenari Castle - the REAL Castle Dracula where his wife flung herself to her death when she thought Vlad was dead and the Turks would do awful things to her(don’t let them fool you into thinking that Bran Castle).
It’s going to be my privilege to have Leo draw my next Image book, but I literally can’t go back to writing that book until DRACULA: SON OF THE DRAGON is funded.
So that’s at least two reasons to pledge and/or share the following link and help me get this book made:
@RyanBrowneArt ‘s DRACULA SON OF THE DRAGON @kickstarter pin-up. If you want to have a physical copy of this insane piece of artwork please pledge here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/78669939/dracula-son-of-the-dragon
I promised I’d post something special if we broke the $10,000 mark, and I think I kept that promise by releasing Ryan’s work.
Ryan is the creator of the insanely hysterical, brilliant GOD HATES ASTRONAUTS, which just had a hugely successful Kickstarter campaign. You can read it for free athttp://www.godhatesastronauts.com/
And tonight (Friday, April 12th), he’s having a release party in Chigaco at Challengers Comics and Conversation at 1845 N. Western Avenue (right by the Western and Milwaukee Blue Line Stop). If you’re in Chi-Town, he invites you to come by for free beer and wine and a chance to pick up your copies of GHA early!
Thanks to Ryan and to everyone who’s backed DRACULA: SON OF THE DRAGON. We are so close to our goal and I can’t tell you how badly I want to see us close the gap in the home stretch here. But we need your help to that.
Once again, the link to PLEDGE and/or share is:
@jerhaun (Jeremy Haun’s) pinup for my DRACULA: SON OF THE DRAGON @kickstarter. If you want a set of postcards with this and other guest art, please pledge here:
I first got to know Jeremy when he did the stand-out flashback sequences in Two-Face: Year One, and helped make that book my favorite non-creator owned work to date (after the drive I’ll post some of the original art he did for Two-Face, which I’m lucky enough to own). He’s better know for reinvigorating The Darkness for Top Cow, and for being one of the brains behind the successful BAD KARMA Kickstarter. You can check out his blog at http://www.jeremyhaun.com/.
The only guidelines I gave the murderer’s row of guest artists for DRACULA: SON OF THE DRAGON was that they draw something Dracula and/or Dragon related. Most chose to do Vlad the Impaler - this is the story of how Vlad became a vampire, after all. But in talking to Jeremy on the phone, we started telling me about his love for the old Hammer Dracula films. He told me he had something in mind, and boy did he not disappoint.
Again, please contribute to our DRACULA Kickstarter, reblog this and/or share the link below. We need your help to make this book happen, and believe it or not there’s more guest art coming….
@paulazaceta’s pin-up for my DRACULA: SON OF THE DRAGON @Kickstarter with @Salgood Sam. Want to own a postcard with this and other guest art? Please pledge here:
I promised I’d post this
if WHEN we broke $9,000 last night, but wanted this to debut in the morning and save the night for Drink & Draw related stuff. As of this writing we need a little over $4,000 to reach our goal. Doable, but we really need your help.
Paul and I did a little book together called GRAVEYARD OF EMPIRES which should be out April 24th in TPB form, with a story he wrote as well as drew. He’s got some Conan stuff coming up if you want to see him go all medieval again. I didn’t think he could wow me after seeing his latest GRAVEYARD stuff, but this DRACULA piece…DAMN.
