A new Whit Stillman movie!

Damsels in Distress: Trailer for the first new Whit Stillman movie since 1998!  And it’s a … raucous college comedy with tap-dancing/musical interludes…?  Okeydoke.  (No Chris Eigeman, though…?  For shame.).  

Seeing Barcelona in the theaters is a fond memory— I was some snot-nosed kid who was like, “I want to see a movie for grown-ups!  I want to grow as a person.  With a title like Barcelona, I’m sure that’s serious!” Of course, Barcelona winds up being about two abrasive know-it-all expatriates obsessed with chasing women and insulting one another constantly.  ”This is what movies for grown-ups is like?  I’m so excited— where’s my inhaler?” (Apparently, in my memories, I have asthma…?) I haven’t seen it in years so maybe it doesn’t hold up— people seem to like Metropolitan more which wasn’t my movie, but fond memory anyways.
