Now that awards season is in full swing, studios are allowing you to download PDFs of the screenplay for a number of Oscar contending films. Yes, it’s a marketing ploy to get members of the WGA, The Academy etc. to read/nominate/vote for their films. But I’d like to think there’s an element of goodwill here.

Teaching writing for film and television, I read so many scripts as part of my job that, despite my curiosity to see how the sausages are made, it would be hard for me to enjoy it (maybe next year when The Dark Knight Rises comes out and I need to decipher Bane’s dialogue). But I know there’s a ton of both professional and aspiring writers who read this blog/follow me of Facebook and Twitter who might enjoy this.
